Stories from the Field: Telling God’s Story—Presenting the Bible Orally
How can we share Bible stories? Most people in the world are actually “oral learners” who learn best by listening and interacting with what they hear, not by reading. Irene and a member of her team will share with us the encouraging fruit that God is giving them in the work of Bible storytelling.

About The EventTopic: Telling God’s Story—Presenting the Bible Orally
Speaker: Irene and team
How can we share Bible stories? We could give someone a tract, or tell them to read the Bible. But the majority of the people in the world are actually “oral learners”—they learn best by listening and interacting with what they hear, not by reading. This is true even if they do have the ability to read.
To meet the need of oral learners, Bible Storytellers are sharing the stories from the Bible within their own communities, to make God’s word accessible to people in their own language—and in the format that they understand best!
Come and hear Irene, an oral Bible story consultant in South Asia, and also a member of her team. They will share with us the encouraging fruit that God is giving them in the work of Bible storytelling.
About the speaker:
Irene has worked in South Asia for over 25 years, the last 14 of them focusing on Bible storying.
As an Oral Bible Storying consultant, she trains and mentors people to tell stories in their own languages, and also checks their stories for biblical accuracy, naturalness, and clear understanding.
She also provides exegetical tools, so that they can craft accurate stories.
