About the Event

"More people walk through the doors of the hospitals than through the doors of churches.” - Healthcare Christian Fellowship International

Mission hospitals are still important, and all the more for medical missions today. Besides providing healthcare services to the underserved or marginalized, they include medical education, mentoring of medical professionals, community health evangelism, teaching, research, and public health. You can serve either on a long or short-term basis. In fact, there is a role for every medically trained disciple of Christ who is prepared to model our Lord in providing holistic care to both body and soul “to proclaim good news to the poor, proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” Luke 4:18.

A panel of medical missionaries and veterans in medical missions will explore with you on:

  1. How God has used medical missions for His Glory.
  2. Evaluate the different models of medical mission in use today and into the future.
  3. Discuss the challenges faced by medical missionaries especially those working in Creative Access Nations.
  4. Medical mission strategies and opportunities.
  5. Consider your involvement in medical missions cross culturally.

While many countries in the world are closed to religious workers, medical and health care workers are still able to enter as professionals. Your medical training can open the way for you to serve communities where Christ is least known. God can give you opportunities to express His compassion through health care, and to make disciples for Jesus within or beyond the hospital doors. Join us and discover where and what long and short-term opportunities there are within SIM.
